POSTLOGUE

Specific molecules and mechanisms comprising the murder weapon have been fictionalized. To the best of my knowledge, the specific mechanism has not been proposed, although many laboratories are working overtime to trick the Peyer's Patch. All background pharmacology and physiology in the novel are correctly described. At the time of publication, the search for an oral delivery form for insulin remains an unfulfilled, decades-old, billion-dollar quest.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
(from first edition)

Dirk Wyle (nom de plume) is a longtime Miami resident and 30-year veteran of biomedical science.  His interests include the South Florida waters, technology's impact on human psychology, multi-culturalism, and the telling of a good story.  The photo was taken in front of his favorite mural in Little Havana.  Dirk Wyle is a member of Mystery Writers of America, and is the winner of the 1998 Icon Award presented by the South Florida Writers (of the National Writers Association).

In Biotechnology is Murder (Rainbow Books, Inc., ISBN 1-56825-045-2), the second book in the series published in 2000, Ben uncovers intrigue and murder when he accepts a lucrative four-day consulting assignment to check out a biotechnology company.

Medical School is Murder will be published by Rainbow Books, Inc. in Fall, 2001. When Ben agrees to take over the laboratory of eccentric Dr. Peter Peterson who recently died of a heart attack, he has no idea that he will be inheriting a troublesome legacy or will be uncovering murder.

Ben and Dirk are hard at work to add two more adventures to the series. For information on book and e-book availability, science and literature, Dirk invites you to visit his website: http://www.dirk-wyle.com
